FAQs

If you have any other questions please let us know so we can either answer you privately or add to here if useful for other guests.

1. How do I RSVP for the wedding?

To RSVP, please visit our wedding website and click on the RSVP section. Fill out the required information, including the number of guests attending and any special requests or dietary restrictions.

2. What is the dress code for the wedding events?

Bali is a tropic laid back place and the weather is humid in March. So we just want you to be comfortable and would recommend light and breathable fabrics like linen, cotton, silk, flowy, wedges over stilettos, flats or low-slung sandals and loafers for men are a good option.

3. Can you recommend any accommodations near the wedding venue?

We have arranged 2 villas in Ubud which are about 10 minutes from the venue. In Uluwatu and Canggu we would love to also arrange villas with as many people as we can, or at least be in the same area.

4. What are the transportation arrangements?

You are responsible for booking your own flights to Bali, but we would love to travel with as many of you as possible so will look at flights soon. Same for transport from the airport to our first stop, we can arrange with whoever is flying at the same time. Please see the travel section for more information also.

5. Are there any group activities or outings planned?

Yes, we want to take you to some of our favourite places such as a temple, spa, coffee plantation, fire dance show ect, and if you have any fun ideas please let us know. We will update the wedding website as much as we can with recommendations, including restaurants, places to get beauty treatments, shops ect.

6. Can I bring a plus-one/guest?

Please let us know on your RSVP so we know numbers.

7. What transportation is available in Bali?

Transportation is really cheap in Bali, me and tom got taxis when we had out luggage, then either rented a scooter ourselves or ordered one, which is all done on an app called Gojek. Its really easy to use and a car or scooter is always available quite quickly (scooter's are cheaper and quicker)

8. How do I obtain a visa for Bali, and what are the entry requirements?

Most visitors to Bali can obtain a visa on arrival, which allows for a stay of up to 30 days. It is was really easy last time we went, we just went on to a computer there but we might be able to do this beforehand.

9. Are there any pre or post-wedding events planned that I should be aware of?

We know we want to do a hen/stag in canggu beforehand, and a pool party the day after the wedding back at the villa but this will all be updated on the events page.

10. Are there any local customs or etiquette I should be aware of in Bali?

Bali do have some local customs and traditions, such as taking your shoes off in some places such as spas and some restaurants such as Zest in Ubud. On the 11th March there is Nyepi, also known as the “Bali Day of Silence,” which is the Balinese Hindu New Year and is a public holiday in Indonesia. It's important to show respect for their religious practices, such as temple visits and ceremonies, when visiting temples they provide a sarong. Balinese people greet each other with a prayer-like gesture called "om suastiastu" with hands placed together, its always polite to return the hand gesture. They make daily offerings called "canang sari" to honor their deities. These small woven baskets made of palm leaves are filled with flowers, rice, and incense. Avoid stepping on or disturbing these offerings as they are considered sacred.
